Sample Track: The Dream That You Are

Lyrics

it’s one of those evenings
that the trees are taller
taller than they’ve ever somehow been
coming up from the deep
like arms from the underworld
with extended fingers
hands that are giving
birds that are singing
leaves whispering
'i know you'

slivered new moon falls
from the daylit sky
steals the gift
hits the ground
and keeps on running
’cuz moon is young
and doesn’t know yet to share
we stare dizzy in the dark
a million eyes
making their own light into stars

in the dream that you are
the dream that you are
the dream that you are

as the sun begins
we forget the robbery
the lit clouds gleam
’cause they’re wet
condensation aches
in the grasses bosom
stars squinting
rivers glistening
as they rush to be free

in the dream that you are
the dream that you are
the dream that you are

Track Info

It was a time of touring and i was getting tired, needing to settle, change life up some. i was trying to remember how i got on this road, and i found myself threading back to the beginning of my wanderlust. i wrote it in athens georgia while walking through the dusk, thinking "this town will do!" tho at the time, any town was looking better than the wearymaking road.
